Regina Margherita Hospital

Torino, Italy

The sixth floor of Regina Margherita Children’s Hospital is now home to the new Pediatric Nephrology and Gastroenterology
department.

Architects S. Miroglio and G. Lupica have adopted the theme of “cosmic journey” as the guiding principle for the project, evident in both the illustrations and interior design. The main objective was to create an environment that would distract young patients from the hospital atmosphere, making their therapeutic journey lighter and immersive in the world of space and celestial bodies. The humanization project also involved the renovation and optimization of spaces. Niches between the rooms were designed not only to accommodate necessary machinery and equipment but also as gathering places for patients and their families.

A fundamental and challenging aspect was finding a lighting system that could seamlessly integrate with the cosmic journey theme while maintaining high lighting efficiency, crucial for such a hospital environment.

Alongside efficiency and hospitality

For this project, Elcom opted for the Elipse ceiling panel, both for its lighting performance and to align with the theme envisioned by architects S. Miroglio and G. Lupica. These LED panels, featuring an elliptical design with a corresponding central hole, were chosen to seamlessly integrate with the cosmic journey theme. Their versatility allows installation without the need for a paneled ceiling, respecting the hospital environment without invasive structural changes. This choice not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the space with a modern touch but also ensures efficient, high-quality lighting crucial for a pediatric ward.

Additionally, these LED panels offer customizable options and are ideal for integration into modern healthcare space design, providing uniform and comfortable lighting that supports the well-being and comfort of patients and their families.
